Privacy policy

Your workouts stay on your device. The app sends anonymous usage statistics to TelemetryDeck, which you can turn off in the app. It includes no advertising trackers.
Support emails, Apple-provided reports, and visits to this website are handled separately, as described below.
About this policy
This policy covers Kamikaze’s Workout Timer, this support website, and email support provided by the app’s developer (“we,” “us”). For privacy questions, contact kamikazetimer@gmail.com.
The app does not require an account. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Your workouts stay under your control
Saved workouts—including names, exercises, interval settings, and sections—and recovery checkpoints are stored in the app’s local storage. A checkpoint keeps the current workout and session progress so you can recover after an interruption. The app does not transmit these records to us or provide developer-operated cloud sync.
You can edit or delete saved workouts in the app. Completing or ending a session removes its recovery checkpoint. Deleting a saved workout does not remove a separate session already in progress; end that session to clear its checkpoint. Deleting the app removes its local app data, but offloading the app may preserve it.
You may choose to import or export workout files through Files, AirDrop, or the share sheet. Recipients and services you select handle those copies under their own practices. Your device’s backups may also include app data, depending on your settings. We cannot access or delete your exported files or device backups; manage those copies through the relevant service.
Playing music alongside the timer does not give us access to your music library. The app does not read HealthKit records, contacts, or precise location.
When you email support
If you email us, we receive your email address, any sender name, your message, and attachments you choose to include. We use this information to reply, troubleshoot problems, and improve the app. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your request.
Our support mailbox uses Gmail, so Google processes these messages as the email service provider under its Privacy Policy. We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, follow up on related issues, or meet legal obligations.
You can request deletion of your support correspondence by emailing the address above. We may need to verify that the request comes from you. Copies in email-provider backups may remain for the provider’s normal retention period.
Apple services and reports
Apple processes App Store, device-backup, and other platform information under its own privacy practices. Depending on your settings and how you use Apple’s services, Apple may make app usage summaries, crash diagnostics, or TestFlight feedback available to us. Feedback you submit may include your contact information or screenshots. We use reports we receive to understand reliability and resolve problems.
This is separate from the app’s own anonymous analytics, described below. Manage Apple’s diagnostic-sharing and backup options in your device settings.
When you visit this website
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub collects visitor IP addresses for security purposes and handles hosting information under its General Privacy Statement. GitHub controls the retention of its hosting records.
We have not added website analytics scripts, advertising trackers, cookies, or contact forms. Clicking an email link opens your email application; no message is sent unless you choose to send it.
Anonymous usage analytics
The app uses TelemetryDeck, an analytics service operated by TelemetryDeck GmbH in Germany, to show us which features people use and whether workouts run reliably. We use it to decide what to improve and to find problems.
What the app sends. An event when you start, complete, or end a workout; when a workout is recovered after the app closed; when an audio interruption or speaker change pauses a workout; and when you create a workout, add a section, import or export a workout file, or test sounds. Events describe features and counts: section types (circuit, custom sequence, or blackjack), the number of sections, planned or elapsed minutes, and how far through a workout you were when you ended it.
TelemetryDeck adds technical context to each event: app version, device model, operating system version, screen size and orientation, language, region, time zone, the local date and hour, appearance and accessibility settings such as text size, bold text, and reduced motion, whether the app came from the App Store or TestFlight, and usage counts such as the number of sessions and days the app has been used.
What the app does not send. Workout names, descriptions, section or exercise names, notes, the contents of workout files, your music, or your location. The app does not use Apple’s advertising identifier and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Anonymous identifier. To count distinct installations, TelemetryDeck derives an identifier from the app-specific identifier Apple provides, hashes it on your device before sending, and hashes it again on its servers. We cannot use it to identify you, and it is not linked to your email or support messages. TelemetryDeck states that it does not store IP addresses.
Storage and retention. TelemetryDeck hosts data with Microsoft Azure in the Netherlands and with AWS and Hetzner in Germany. Our dashboard shows events for the retention period of our TelemetryDeck plan. TelemetryDeck also keeps anonymized events in long-term storage and has not committed to a deletion schedule. Because the events cannot be tied back to you, we cannot find or delete a particular person’s events.
Your choice. Sharing is on by default. To stop sending events, turn off Share anonymous usage data in Settings (the gear button in the workout library). Turning it off does not remove events already sent. While sharing is on, the app keeps small local records, such as its first-use date and session counts, to attach to events; deleting the app removes them.
Changes and contact
We may revise this policy as the app evolves. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. We will provide additional notice of material changes and request consent where required.
